Lactation Support for Health Workers (LSHW)

Are you looking for a basic lactation course that will prepare you to help clients in a healthcare setting? Look no further! 

A breastfeeding dyad receives care from many facets in healthcare, from pediatrics to home visiting programs. "Lactation Support for Healthcare Workers" is designed as a course to prepare health care workers in any setting to provide basic lactation care for both the parent and the baby. 

LEC's remarkable faculty of leading and experienced clinicians will help you explore current, internationally accepted lactation management practices and review basic science essentials that form the foundation of lactation consultant practice. Throughout the course, you will have an opportunity to learn basic lactation terms, how milk is made, how to maintain supply, and how to get started with latch and positioning. Other topics include breastfeeding history, how and when to refer, understanding breast pumps, support for the supplementing parent, and much more!
 

Class times: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm on both days.
